PRESS RELEASE

Halsey Hathaway’s work explores how intricate shifts in color and form can command a physical and emotional presence from the viewer and increase the time of viewing. He applies ink to thick paper with an atomizer, using stencils to create the layers. Halsey Hathaway (b. 1980) received an MFA from Hunter College in 2006, where he was awarded the Tony Smith award. He is a 2010 fellow in painting from the New York Foundation for the Arts. He has recently exhibited at Rawson Projects, Storefront Bushwick, and Lu Magnus.
